Those fans who support the game have blamed a crowded launch window for the low sales, with games like Red Dead Redemption 2 being around the corner. That reaction is probably the most bizarre piece of salesmanship since George Costanza tried to sell computers out of a garage. This news comes on the heels of the above mentioned creative director telling fans of the series “don’t like it, don’t buy it”, in reaction to fan’s disappointment with the depiction of women in the teaser trailer. However, with the recent reporting that not only did the creative director for Battlefield 5 depart Electronic Arts ( along with his golden parachute), but that preorder sales for his game have “lagged”. In the fast-paced arena of online social media, this story should have ended long ago. Why is this happening? Why am I even writing about a game series when the latest one I played was released 8 years ago (Battlefield Bad Company Part 2)?
